We see ourselves as a modern hybrid venue for Berlin-Mitte: a restaurant at Alexanderplatz for every occasion — from a quick business lunch between two meetings to a relaxed dinner with friends and a long evening with cocktails in the adjoining lounge. The menu offers international favourites alongside true Berlin classics like Currywurst and Kassler — honestly prepared and without fuss, no Michelin plating, no tweezer food, just good food that satisfies.
If you want to grab something proper at Alexanderplatz or in Berlin-Mitte without ending up in a tourist trap, MIO is for you. If you want to stay the whole evening, just as much. We’re open from late morning until late at night.

Breakfast and brunch, crispy stone-oven pizza and homemade pasta, juicy steaks from the grill, fresh salads and hearty burgers — our menu is deliberately broad, because no one should leave MIO hungry. Add to that rotating chef’s recommendations, a small but carefully chosen wine list and classic cocktails from the bar.

The interior of MIO Restaurant is clean and generously laid out — plenty of daylight through the tall windows, the architecture of Alexanderplatz in the background and, again and again, a view of the TV Tower. In the evening, a calm lighting mood with an LED chandelier creates a soft transition into the adjoining bar and lounge area.
Our team looks after you in a relaxed and attentive way, without making a show of it. The centrepiece in summer is our huge terrace: spacious, sunny and right at Alexanderplatz — with a direct view of the Rotes Rathaus, all beneath the TV Tower. Here you sit in the open air and yet in the heart of Berlin-Mitte.

MIO is located at Panoramastraße 1a, just a few steps from the TV Tower. From Alexanderplatz station you can walk to us in under three minutes — by underground, city train, tram or regional train. That makes MIO one of the most easily reached restaurants in Berlin-Mitte.
Within walking distance you also find Hackescher Markt, the Nikolaiviertel, the Rotes Rathaus and the Berliner Dom — perfect if you want to eat after sightseeing, or if you’re staying in one of the hotels around Alexanderplatz and want a restaurant nearby. Parking is available at the Alexa car park and the Park Inn underground garage, both less than five minutes on foot.
